• Kiko is known by his great technical skills on the guitar, frequently incorporating such techniques as two-handed tapping, sweap picking, full swept arpeggios, alternate picking, artificial & natural harmonics and combinating legato & staccato in the same run or phrase.

• Kiko has studied with Pedro Bueno, who teaches him the first chords and some classical guitar lessons. Later, he studied with the guitarist Aldo D'Isep. When he was 16 years old, he becomes interested for learning to play electric guitar, so he studied at the IG&T with Wesley Caesar and other teachers, until he finally meets Mozart Mello, and Kiko studied with Mozart for five years.

• Despite being left-handed, Kiko plays his instruments for right-handed because he begun to study with right-handed classical guitar. 

• Before he found Angra with Rafael Bittencourt, Kiko played with some local bands in São Paulo until he meets the luthier Seizi Tagima, and together, they developed his own guitar the Tagima K-1 and Tagima K-2. 

• During a Workshop in St. Music Hall, Kiko had a duel with the guitarist Eduardo Ardanuy ( formerly of Dr. Sin ) 

• Kiko also had some duels with the guitarist Carlos Tomati on the late show Programa do Jô.

• Kiko is married to Finnish pianist Maria Ilmoniemi since 2011, having met her during his tenure in Tarja Turunen's Storm World in 2008. Their first daughter, Livia, was born on September 29th, 2011. On November 21st, 2016 they welcomed twins in the family, Dante and Stella.

• Along the English and Portuguese language, Kiko speaks some French, Spanish and European Portuguese.
